About me
I am Evander Batson—a designer and creative based in New York Los Angeles. I’ve worked in the digital design industry for the last decade, having done tenures at creative agencies, cultural institutions, start ups, all the way to large publicly-traded technology companies. I received my M.F.A. in Design Technology from Parsons School of Design, and have taught graduate-level design classes at Pratt Institute to the upcoming generation of designers.
I approach design strategically and visually, believing that beauty, feeling, and utility are all connected. I have found the best outcomes result from a careful balance of both evaluation and instinct, oriented around the actual lived, human experience within the product’s ecosystem. The best teams trust each other’s expertise, learn from heuristics, iterate together, listen to users, stay focused on the mission, and lay solid groundwork to ensure the foundations of what they are building upon are solid.
Doing good work is hard. Changing the status quo is even harder, but let’s make the moments that we try really count. Please reach out if you’d like to collaborate.
